What daily life in Green Cove Springs feels like

Green Cove Springs is my home base, and I think it's one of the most charming towns in Northeast Florida. It's the Clay County seat, and the historic downtown sits right on the St. Johns River.

The heart of town is Spring Park. The spring there flows at a steady 77 degrees, runs through the city's spring fed pool, and empties into the river about 200 feet away. The park has shady oaks, a playground with wheelchair accessible equipment, a river overlook and fishing pier, a kayak launch, and a free splash pad. It's also home to the city's Memorial Day RiverFest.

Boaters can use Knight's Boat Ramp and Marina at the mouth of Black Creek, just north of town. Golfers may like Magnolia Point, a golf and country club community nearby.

Yes. It's an incorporated city and the Clay County seat. Homes inside city limits may have city utilities and city taxes, and homes outside are under the county. I'll tell you which applies.
