Middleburg has deep roots. The town grew up at the fork of Black Creek, where it was once known as Garey's Ferry and was the site of Fort Heileman during the Second Seminole War. Today it still has a relaxed, country feel.
Black Creek is the star here. The Middleburg (Main Street) Boat Ramp has boardwalks through the wetlands, two fishing piers, a playground, and paddleboard rentals. It's a great spot for a slow Saturday morning.
If you want more space, a garden, or room for a boat or workshop, Middleburg is worth a look.

Is Middleburg close to Camp Blanding?
It's one of the closer Clay County communities, about 12 miles and roughly 25 minutes in light traffic from central Middleburg.
Can I use a VA loan on a home with acreage?
Often, yes. The home has to be your primary residence and meet VA appraisal requirements. Farms or properties with income producing use can be more complicated, so talk with your lender and me early.
Do homes in Middleburg have well and septic?
Some do, especially outside subdivisions. We'll find out for every home and schedule the right inspections.
Is Middleburg really the second oldest town in the country?
That's a popular local story, but county historians have found that records don't support it. Middleburg's documented settlement dates to the late 1700s and early 1800s, which is still plenty of history.
